Agnes was a very healthy 91 years of age, when she succumbed to a brief illness and passed away at Emanuel Medical Center.
Agnes was born in Hilmar, Ca, to Manuel and Lena Furtado. She was active in many organizations in Hilmar, such as the Hilmar Alter Society, Charter Member of the Hilmar Y.L.I Young Ladies Institute, S.E.S., U.P.E.C., and a long time member of the Turlock Horsemen’s Club and Woman’s Double D Club. Agnes loved to travel in her RV and belonged to the West Stan Wheelers. She and her husband traveled the United States, covering every state except Maine and Hawaii. She also loved to crochet and knit. She was well known for the Afghans that she created and donates to different charity raffles.
Agnes is survived by her children Alice (Silva) Ramos of Turlock, Barton F. Ramos, of Turlock, her sister Ida Ramos of Turlock, nine grand children, 16 great grand children, and one great great grandchild, which marked 5 generations. She is preceded in death by her husband Frank (Bud) Ramos, daughter Vermalee (Ramos) Schou, sister Mary Logen and brother Joe Ramos.
Visitation will be at Allen Mortuary, Monday, March 15, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm, with the Rosary to begin at 6:00pm. A mass will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hilmar, Tuesday, March 16, at 10:00am, with burial to follow at Turlock Memorial Park.
