We will greatly miss Gary and his weekly writings on the races. He was such a wonderful person and devoted individual to the sport of racing. We are lucky to have his writings to cherish forever and we will never forget what a special person Gary was to so many.
He will be greatly missed and our prayers are with his family at this time.

The Best there was at what he did....Rest in Peace.

We will miss our conversations with Gary and seeing him for more than 25 years covering racing and writing articles. He became part of the racing scene. He was a fixture that you know would be just around the next corner interviewing someone. He would listen to everything and remember it all days later. What a special talent he had. As a sports writer, he has become a legend in the West. All writers that follow him will always be compaired to what Gary was able to accomplish. In that sense Gary will live forever in our hearts and in the work he shared with us for so long. Thank you Gary.

It was a very sad day in our racing family, when Gary passed away.
Gary was was much a part of racing as any one person could be, and I have never met anyone with so much love and compassion for the sport. It breaks my heart that I will never see him and his clipboard again, but the memories of all he has done will live on in all of us forever.
God must have needed the best racing sports writer around..Peace be with you.
