USA Race Park, was a new track that no one had ever heard of,until Gary!We were so thrilled, the first time we saw an article on our track!Gary never asked for anything, most of the time he would quietly come and go,without anyone knowing he was even there. Our track will be doing a memorial race for Gary and Toys for Tots,on Thanksgiving weekend. We will never forget him!
My condolences go out to Gary Jacobs and family. He was a generous person who donated his time and talent for the sport he loved. I met him one night at a weekly show in Bakersfield, Gary held out his hand introduced himself and we spoke for the better part of an hour! He knew who i was, were i had raced, how i had done and who’s old car i was driving! Never ceased to amaze me in my IMCA travels from Perris CA to Las Vegas NV, Merced CA to Canyon AZ, I would see him come through the pits, with a big smile and i always looked forward to catching up on all his latest travels and inside news! A genuine race fan in the purest form… I suppose no one could have imagined how much we would miss him... Darin Hawks
I really appreciate all the fine articles he wrote about my son Reilly. His loss is tremendous to you and the racing world. My deepest condolences.
I met Gary at Chico when we still had late models,we won a race at San Jose and he was in our pit for about a half hour asking how the car ran so well, then wrote us a great report in racing wheels. The MAN was great to be around and will be missed. From all the old Late Model racers in Chico, our hearts go out to his family
Alway Loved it when you could get the results from a race before the Track Officals Could.
Will Miss his Great Stories.
