Visitation at Allen Mortuary on Wed, 2/19/2014 from 10 am to 12 pm. Memorial Service followed by reception at Allen Event Center at 12 pm. Burial on 2/24/2014 at 2:30 pm at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery.

John M. Gaxiola

February 1933-February 2014

John Gaxiola, 81, passed away at his home in Delhi. John was born in Coyote Wells CA, one of seven children of Rosario and Cesaria Gaxiola. John attended a rural country school in Seeley CA during his younger years. He also attended Washington Elementary school and graduated from Central Union High School. John’s father worked for Southern Pacific where his family’s life revolved around the railroad. John was a Corporal in the Army and was awarded numerous medals during his service to our country. John and his wife Mary had a huge many friends and in their early years dancing was a favorite past time. In the later years, he was a handyman busy with many projects including trees, gardens and being a loving caregiver to his beloved wife.
John was preceded in death by his wife Mary Tonia and siblings Rosario Gaxiola Jr., Felix Gaxiola and Manual Gaxiola. He is survived by his children Lisa Gaxiola-Davis and Andrew Gaxiola both of El Centro CA.; siblings Carmen Cardova, Alice Lopez and Robert Gaxiola; 3 grandchildren Estee Lynn Maloy, Jared Elijah Davis, Sarah Beth Jovita Davis, and 3 great-grandchildren Molly Belle Maloy, Haley Paige Maloy and Sophia Antonia Maloy.
A memorial service will be held at Allen Mortuary’s Event Center on Wednesday, February 19th at 12 pm. Private burial will be held at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery.
