Gaylor “George” F. Lucas
June 1925 ~ July 2010
George Lucas, 85, of Ceres, passed away at Memorial Medical Center on July 19th. He was born in Oklahoma in 1925 to Samuel and Sallie Lucas. His family moved to California when he was very young. He graduated from high school, married his lifelong companion Lola Mae, and worked for 39 years as a refrigeration engineer at Merchants Refrigeration plant in Modesto. His wife Lola preceded him in death just two years ago after nearly 60 years of marriage. He was also predeceased by his parents, by a daughter Arlana “Gaylene” Lucas, a son David Sheldon Lucas, brothers James Wesley Lucas and Paul Dean Lucas, a sister Audrey Heflin, and by a grand-daughter Jennifer Nettie Mae Page.
George is survived by his daughter Linda Lucas of Modesto, brother Winfred Lucas of Waterford, grandchildren: Tommy Lee Buckhanan, of Ceres, April Sunshine Lucas, of Modesto, and great grandson Skyler L. Buckhanan of Ceres.
A private burial will be held for George and his wife Lola at San Joaquin Valley National (Military) Cemetery at Santa Nella, California. Please leave memories and condolences at www.allenmortuary.com.
