I remember Mrs. Ham's husband worked for my Dad in the early 1950's. They lived right by us on the dairy on Central Ave. She was always so kind. I remember her giving me my first permament and how bad it smelled. She named her daughter, who was my best friend at the time, after my Dad...Allen Johnson. Our family moved away when we sold the dairy in 1955.
My family still remembers Mrs.Ham with great fondness. My Mom, Eloyce Johnson, who passed away last fall, always talked about Gerry with such love and respect.
I certainly share your sorrow today and my prayers are with you in the days to come.
I was blessed to have had such a loving Aunt. I am so glad I was able to stay connected to her even with so many miles between us,and I treasure the memories we have shared over the last 60+ years. I will alway remember the fun trip to Ohio with my Mom, Aunt Gerry and Aunt Will. The sisters loved each other so. I think of Aunt Gerry when I eat an orange and remember the very best that grew in her own yard. She will be missed.
