An obituary is a newspaper notice of the death of a person that contains a biographical sketch. In addition to the state-mandated information for the death certificate, Allen Mortuary will need the following information to complete your loved one’s obituary.
Your funeral counselor at Allen Mortuary will submit the obituary to the newspapers of your choice. Obituaries are published by The Modesto Bee and the Turlock Journal free of charge, however, there are some guidelines and restrictions. Paid obituaries are also available in some newspapers, and are usually less restrictive. Some out-of-area newspapers may charge a fee.
