Kinthy Lorraine Pierce was born on May 17th, 1958 and entered into heaven on December 21, 2020.

Kinthy was born in Stockton, CA to Ben and Boyda Collins. Kinthy grew up and attended school in the Stockton and Lodi area and enjoyed playing softball, running track, jumping double dutch and participating in anything competitive. She was always riding her bike in the neighborhood and enjoyed spending time at the community pool. Kinthy and her two sisters, Ginger and Cindy were always very close, but all three of them will tell you that Kinthy and Ginger’s favorite activity was tormenting their baby sister, Cindy. Even as adults, they found great amusement in reminding her that she was the baby by doing things like, not allowing her to ride in the front seat of the car when they were all together.

One night, while out having fun at Murphy’s Bar in Stockton with her friend and uncle, Stan, she met Mike. The two hit it off immediately and Kinthy proclaimed that night that she had met the man she was going to marry and they did just that. On July 17th, 1982, Kinthy married the love of her life, Michael Pierce. Kinthy and Mike then went onto have three beautiful daughters, Erica, Alexandra and Christy. They were married for 38 years full of up and downs, adventure, fun, and most of all, love.

One of the greatest joys in Kinthy’s life were her children. She loved being a stay-at-home mom for her girls and loved helping to raise her nieces, Jennifer and Jamie, as well as their kids, Cassie, Cameron, Kylee and Ella. She was known for welcoming everyone into her home, playing board games, giving anyone who needed it a place to stay, feeding all the kids and making Ella’s “special toast”.

She loved her titles of wife, mom, 2nd mom, sister, daughter, aunt, cousin, and “Gr-auntie” (grandma aunt), but her favorite title was, Grandma. Kinthy looked forward to being a grandma for a very long time and although she only experienced being a grandma for a short time, she was the best at it. She loved her grandchildren with all of her heart and she loved every second spent with them.

Kinthy is described by many as being a wonderful listener, giving the best hugs, making everyone feel welcome, she never knew a stranger, she loved having fun and laughing and never judging anyone for what they were going through. She was always warm and understanding and she simply felt like home.

Kinthy was greeted in heaven by her daughter Christy and parents Ben and Boyda Collins. She leaves behind her husband Mike Pierce; daughters Erica (Holly) Pierce and Alexandra (Greg) Mayer; sisters Ginger Holland Collins and Cindy (Fred) Davenport; grandchildren Heather, Jade, Eli and Ty; nephews and nieces Josh (Leah) Davenport, Sadie (Cris) Strode, Jennifer (Shannon) DuBois and Jamie (Eric) Vroege, and eight great nieces and nephews (Cassie, Tristan, Cameron, Kylee, Amayah, Ella, Jacob, and Daniel).

Kinthy will be missed for her love and dedication to her family and will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.

Remembrances

  1. My Sister In Law was funny, passionate and very much in love with my brother, Mike. There’s a ton of things I can say but, there’s just not enough room to tell everyone just how wonderful she is and was.

  2. Kinthy was an amazing person. She took me to my first movie, Bed knobs and Broomsticks and was there for the birth of my first son and held my hand with all of my children. She allowed me to be a part of her daughters lives. She loved all of our family with her whole heart! We will miss you! Rest In Peace! May God bless our family!
