Anthony “Andy” E. Nagy, DDS February 6, 1941 - April 23, 2021

Anthony “˜Andy’ E Nagy, DDS was born in Alameda, CA on February 6th, 1941 and died at home Friday April 23rd 2021. He was one of the first Orthodontists in Turlock. Over the years he has crafted hundreds of smiles! His perfectionism and attention to detail made him very good at his chosen profession and earned him the gratitude of his patients.   He was very grateful to his office staff for making the practice a happy place to be and considered them part of his extended family. Even after retirement he often visited the crew, bringing baked goodies and keeping up with their lives.

Andy graduated from Golden Gate Academy in Oakland, CA in 1958 and followed his father’s steps into the Navy where he took training as a Dental Technician, later specializing in Orthodontics. He met his future wife Ginger at Pathfinder Youth meetings when Andy was 11 and Ginger was 13.  Later they both attended Golden Gate Academy, where Andy was in band and Ginger was in the choir. They began 61 years of partnership in 1959.  Andy enjoyed reading, fishing, photography, shooting, gardening, fixing things, and time spent on his Harley. As a long-time member of The Turlock Brass and Jim’s Big Band, he played Trumpet, Coronet, and Violin for church, special events and dances around the community. His talented wife Ginger accompanied the bands with keyboard, voice, and drums.  Andy is survived by his loving wife Ginger, Sister Mabel Nagy, son Greg (Elizabeth) Nagy, daughter Brenda (Dave)Windom, six grandkids and two great grandsons.

A celebration of life service will be held at Turlock Seventh-day Adventist Church on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at 11:00a.m.

Dr Nagy was orthodontist to my sister and myself. When my sister was a teenager and needing braces, my mom would bring me along. Dr Nagy and his staff always made me feel comfortable. Dr Nagy was always kind and gentle. I loved going to Dr Nagy’s office because he made us feel like family. My condolences and prayers for the family. God bless you and keep you always.
Sincerely Lori Harding ( braces, and Orthagnathic patient)

Dr. Nagy was a kind gentleman. We ran into him at the gun store last year. He commented on my smile which I owe to his amazing work! I remember decades ago Dr Nagy telling me about the music he and Ginger shared at the Senior Center. My prayers are with you as God prepares Dr. Nagy’s celebration of life.
