Barbara Lanthier, 91, of Turlock, passed away at Alexander Cohen Hospice House. Barbara was born in San Francisco CA to William and Maude Riley. She graduated from St. Paul’s Catholic School in San Francisco and later worked as a switchboard operator for the airlines. She married John Lanthier in 1953 in Alameda. Her husband was a teacher and administrator in Fremont Unified Schools enabling Barbara to be a full time wife, homemaker, and mom for their three children. She served and taught catechism in their church. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and 4 siblings: Eleanor Riley, Wilbur Riley, Douglas Riley, and Raymond Riley. She is survived by her children: Michele (David) Bock of Alameda, Valerie Krovitz of Santa Cruz, and Denise (Brian) Hunt of Twain Harte; 8 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held on Monday, March 16th, 10:00 am at Holy Angels Church in Colma, CA with burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Memorial gifts are invited in Barbara’s name for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
