Bertha Mae Durham

October 1925 ~ June 2013

Bertha Durham, 87, of Denair, passed away at her home. Bertha was born in Purnell, OK to Ortho and Flora Witcher and moved to Ceres, California when she was 2 years old. She was raised on a farm where they had animals and raised all kinds of crops. She loved the church. Bertha was an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God and cared for people all over the country. She loved helping others. Often she would take people off the street, clean them up, and bring them to church. She also enjoyed yard work, yard sales, and antiquing. Her life was centered around serving God and her family. Her favorite verse was Philippians 4:19: My God will supply all my needs.

Bertha was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Albert J. Durham. She is survived by three daughters: Barbara Daniels of Empire, Deborah Tyson of Denair, and Rebecca Ruiz of Modesto; a sister Lenora Lee Bolen of Kansas City, MO, 6 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at Allen Mortuary on Monday, June 24th at 10 am.
