September 1968 – July 2012
William (Bill) Nazar was a loving son, brother, father and friend who will be missed by all who knew and loved him. His friends and family will always remember Bill as a dependable, hard-working, and loyal man who took care of everyone around him. Bill was born in Sacramento, CA to Paul and Helen Nazar who in 1968 lived in Sutter Creek, CA and was the youngest of two sons. The Nazar family moved to Turlock on July 4, 1970 to take over the family farm and Bill attended local schools. After high school, Bill joined the Army National Guard and served honorably as a reserve soldier and was a proud to have served his country.
He also began a career as truck driver and mechanic and enjoyed working on all kinds of cars and trucks. Those who knew Bill will remember him as a thorough and detailed mechanic who took pride in every facet of a vehicle he worked on. He was meticulous and could clean and detail a car better than any showroom. If your car needed fixing, you’d find it returned to you repaired, completely serviced and cleaner than when you bought it.
Bill drove trucks most recently for Winco Foods and left in 2010 to start his own transportation company, Nazar Enterprises. It was a success from the beginning because his customers quickly realized that Bill was dependable, trustworthy and always gave them a fair price. Bill had business partners in both his car repair and transportation company businesses who were close friends because Bill was a good friend to everyone who knew him. Bill also enjoyed the outdoors and loved camping, riding quads in Pismo and visiting the Pacific Northwest. His favorite activity was loading up the toy hauler, which was always in excellent condition and cleaned to perfection, and heading to the coast or the mountains.
What Bill was most proud of was his family, especially his son Tyler. Bill was close to his parents and lived on the property for many years, helping run the farm, clearing the land and making improvements to both the structures and the property itself. He lovingly took care of his mother Helen (d. 2005) and his father Paul (d. 2011) during the last years of their lives. Bill (and his brother George) had also taken on the role of caring for his grandmother, Angelina Rule (100, of Sutter Creek, CA) in the years following his own mother’s death and Bill visited her nearly every week.
Bill was a dedicated animal lover who rescued and took in any animal that needed help. He never turned one away and is survived by several critters, including Mama Kitty, Willow, Elvira and Bok-Bok, his pet chicken. Bill is survived by his brother George (Los Angeles), his son Tyler (Turlock), grandmother Angelina Rule (Sutter Creek) and Brenda Bessey (Turlock).
Services will be at Allen Mortuary Tuesday, July 24 at 5:00pm.
