Bonnie Hinkle, 91, of Turlock, passed away at Turlock Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Bonnie was born in Nodaway County, Missouri to Cisero and Hazel Farrens. The family moved to Cheyenne, WY where she graduated from high school. She married Walter Meadows, a photographer for the Cheyenne Newspaper. He was killed in a plane accident in 1947 while serving in the Air Force. Bonnie moved to the Fresno, Hanford area of California in 1948. In 1949 she married Vernon Hinkle, who died in 1999. She was a clerk for the State of California for 30 years. Bonnie was named a life member in the PTA and was active in the YMCA Y’menettes. She was involved in her churches, first at the Methodist Church in Hanford for 20 years and Auberry Community Church for 40 years. She loved working with youth and worked with the Auberry Library reading to children. She loved knitting and crocheting. Many friends and family members received potholders that Bonnie crocheted for them.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, four siblings: Thelma Sample, Eldon Farrens, Bert Farrens, and Kenneth Farrens, and two children: Sandra Meadows at age 2, and Leroy Hinkle. She is survived by four children: Crystal (Jesse) Hobdy of Turlock, Penny (John) Meadows of Hanford, John (Margie) Hinkle of Diamond Bar, CA, and Dorothy Metz of Reseda CA; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great, great-grandchild.

A Memorial Service will be held on April 11, 2015 at 11:00am at Community Presbyterian Church, 15917 El Capitan Way, Delhi. A family inurnment will be held at Lakeview Cemetery in Cheyenne, Wyoming in July. Memorial gifts are suggested for Community Hospice, 4368 Spyres Way, Modesto CA 95356.
