Carlo D. Richesin, 83, passed away at the Veterans Medical Center in Livermore after a long illness. “Carl” was born in Pampa, Texas but moved to Turlock as young boy where he graduated from Turlock High School in 1950. After graduation he joined the Military and landed in the Korean War, 1st Marine Division 1950. He was very proud of his military service but when it was completed he hurried home to marry the love of his life Carole. Together Carl and Carole raised four children. He was a specialist in Conveyor belts and Hydraulic hoses. He managed Delta Rubber Co. and King Bearing Inc. He loved cutting his own firewood and you could always find him tinkering in the garage! His favorite was probably camping and deer hunting in Colorado with his sons. In the 70’s, Carl held a number of championships for sand drags and jeep racing. A very generous man, he will certainly be missed by all that knew him.
Carl was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years who passed away in January of 2013, a son Mark who passed away December of 2010, and parents Jim and Edna Richesin. He is survived by two brothers: Charles Richesin of Napa and Jim Richesin of Turlock; three children: Cathy Sharp, Larry (Tresha) Richesin, and Kenny Richesin, all of Modesto; six grandsons, eight great-grandchildren and one great, great granddaughter.
