Claude “Don” Peery Jr.

Claude Donald “Don” Peery Jr. passed away on April 15, 2019 with his family by his side at Emanuel Hospital in Turlock, CA.  Don was born on December 27, 1943 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Claude “Don” and Dorothy Peery. He was the second born of two with one sister Roberta Rausch (deceased).

Don was raised in Chino, CA where he went to elementary and high school and graduated as a member of the Class of 1962. He joined the United States Navy in 1962, where he was deployed to many places throughout the world, including a tour of Vietnam.

On May 23, 1963 Don married his sweetheart, Helen Noyes, whom he met at a church dance. Don and Helen had four children: Lisa Adams of Turlock, CA; Rob Peery of Susanville, CA; John Peery of Merced, CA and Steven Peery of Turlock, CA. Dave Morrow of Missouri and Samantha Criswell (deceased) are also his children from former foster relationships.

Don and Helen lived and worked for Merced County for many years until moving and settling in Turlock in 1994.  He was always active in his church and often involved in scouting.

In his passing, Don leaves his loving wife of fifty-six years, Helen; daughter Lisa Adams and her children Amanda, Kelsey and Zachary; son Rob Peery with his wife Suzanne and their children Tyler, Brandon, Nick and Michael with his wife Jasmine and children Lilly, Ollie, and Edelweiss; daughter Scarlett with her husband Joel and children Caden and Chloe; son Chris with his wife Chinee and their daughter Katherine; son Joshua with his wife Fatima; son John Peery with his wife Jo Ann; and sons Steven Peery and David Morrow. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Roberta and daughter Samantha.

Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral service which will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 4300 Geer Road, Turlock, CA on Monday April 22, 2019 at 10:00 am.  Interment to follow at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery  McCabe Road, Santa Nella, CA.
