Dixie Delores Hayes Chance May 27, 1935 - May 12, 2022

May 27, 1935 – May 12, 2022

Dixie Delores Hayes Chance, 86, passed away peacefully to the hymn “In the Sweet By and By” in Hughson at Alexander Cohen Community Hospice House on May 12, 2022.

Dixie was the youngest child born to Robert Lee Hayes and Florence Inez Von Wedell in Turlock, CA. She graduated Turlock High School in 1952. She met her husband of 68 years, John Robert Chance Jr., at the Friends Church in Denair, CA. They settled on a farm in Denair and had three children: Tom Robert Chance, Stanley John Chance, and Merna Wahneeta Chance. The family grew to include eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Dixie enjoyed being involved with her church communities, music and singing, bright colorful flowers, adventures and traveling, going to shows, taking a drive, lively games, her loyal cats, and if there was a party she would be there!

We will be celebrating her life on her birthday Friday May 27th at 10am.  Funeral at the Old Quaker Church Building, 4809 E Zeering Rd, Denair, CA 95316.

Processional to the burial at Denair Cemetery. Reception to follow.

We just heard this news of Dixie’s graduation into glory.
Dixie loved her family, her church, and her Lord.
Our thoughts are with Tom, Stan, and Myrna. A mother’s place cannot be replaced, but her spirit lives on through her legacy.
