Dora “Pete” Winters, 73, of Keyes, passed away at Memorial Medical Center. Pete was born in Talihina, Oklahoma to Jesse and Nora Carter. The family moved to California when she was in elementary school and she attended Turlock High School. In 1958 she married the love of her life, George Winters, and they have made Keyes their home for most of their married life. Pete loved bingo, trips to the casinos, and watching her husband play softball. They developed many close friends with softball teams’ families and even enjoyed travelling together. In earlier years Dora enjoyed bowling and dancing. She enjoyed entertaining family and friends. She will be greatly missed.

Dora was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, George Winters, three children: Martin (Darcy) Winters of Keyes, Debra (Stanley) Stafford of Modesto, and Tony Winters of Keyes; six grandchildren: Briona (Dennis) Mendes, Brett Hill (Alissa Wilkinson-future granddaughter-in-law), Brittany (Casey) Cotta, Brooke Hill, Nick Stafford, and Brady Winters; eight great-grandchildren, and siblings: William Carter of OK, Bernice Crowley of CA, Virgie Pickart of CA, and Genna Wolverton of OK.

Funeral Service will be held at Allen Mortuary on Tuesday, April 15th at 10 am. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park. Memorial gifts are welcomed in Dora’s name at the charity of your choice.
