Dorothy Wanita De Sa, a beautiful godly woman, has left us and is now in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Born in Los Banos, CA to Joseph and Eulalia George, and the second of three children, Dorothy grew up with brothers Richard and Robert.

Dorothy was blessed with four beautiful children Alex John, Eulalia (Layla), John and Ann. She played church organ for over 50 years starting at the age of 9 . Dorothy also had a lifetime teaching credential at Merced Community College in Needle and Textile Arts. During her retirement Dorothy crocheted scarfs for the homeless, baby blankets for those in need, lap blankets for cancer patients and her church family right up until the Lord called her home.

A loving mother, grandmother, mentor and friend, Dorothy’s love of the Lord and her positive spirit was an inspiration to all. Legally blind for the last 23 years of her life, she still lived independently in her own home and was an amazing prayer warrior for family, friends and the church.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters Ann De Sa and Layla (David) Forstedt; grandchildren Jennifer (Jonathan) Johnson, Alyssa Forstedt, Amy McCamey, William (Araceli) Beltz; Michael De Sa and Robert De Sa; great-grandchildren Michael De Sa Jr., Samuel, Matthew and William Johnson, and Trenton Wingo; special people in Dorothy’s life Karen and Taylor Beckwith and her Hilmar Covenant Church family. Dorothy is preceded in death by her sons, Alex John and John De Sa; parents Joseph and Eulalia George; and brother Richard George.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p m Sunday, May 3, 2015 at Hilmar Covenant Church with a dessert reception following in the Church Family Center. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Dorothy’s name may be given to the Hilmar Covenant Church Benevolence Fund or Music Program.
