Edward was born in Iran in 1948. Soon after graduating from high school, at age 18, he migrated to the United States in 1966. Edward believed in higher education, but life circumstances slowed down his goal’s timeline. Focused on his goal, Edward attended San Francisco State University, and graduated in 1977 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management.
After his graduation, he had to return to Iran to visit with family members and ended up serving in the Army for 4 years. Upon completion of his service, he returned to the United States in 1982.
While attending SFSU, he met Ninva Charbakhshi, an Assyrian young lady from Iran, who was also pursuing higher education. Edward knew that his life would be blessed by keeping and honoring Assyrian culture and tradition, by marrying an Assyrian. Edward and Ninva were married in 1984. The fruit of this marriage were two boys, Justin and Eugene.
Edward began his career with Prudential Life in San Francisco, and his hard work carried him to retirement after 35 years. In 1992, they decided to relocate their residence to Turlock, CA, however, he would not change his career. He stayed at his mother’s home in SF and cared for her needs, as well as commuting to Turlock and attending to the needs of his wife and 2 sons. He cared for every one of his clients, to the point that most turned to be close friends for life.
Edward was a member of Assyrian Foundation of America in Berkeley/San Francisco, and supported this organization’s humanitarian, cultural, and educational projects to the Assyrian nation worldwide. He was also a member of Assyrian Presbyterian Church in Turlock.
Edward’s hobbies included helping his wife at home, and being the handyman for just about any improvements around the house. He enjoyed working on cars, cooking, biking, and taking long walks. Last few years, he paid special attention to their dog Niko.
Edward is survived by his wife Ninva Charbakhshi, his two sons Justin and Eugene Mooshabad, and his siblings Irene Ishaya and Angel Yousef.
Visitation will be held at 12pm on Friday, February 26, 2021 with the funeral to follow at 1pm at Allen Mortuary. He will be laid to rest at Turlock Memorial Park.

I met him in 2016 as my new agent because my other agent got retired. I would say Ed was a family man. He was kind, sincere, and dedicated to his work. Everyday we talked about culture, economics, finance, and gossip. His stories were so I interesting. We always keep talking until late night. I just spoke to Ed early February and promised to meet soon. I’m so sad to hear his pass. I miss him so much. R.I.P. Ed!
