Gene A. Lancaster

February 1934 – January 2013

Gene Allen Lancaster, 78, of Turlock passed away at Alexander Cohen Hospice House with his family at his bedside. Gene was born in Oklahoma to Luther and Ruby Lancaster and moved to California as a child. Gene entered the US Army in 1957. A few short months after returning home in 1959 he and Carolyn Joslin were married, celebrating 53 years of marriage.

After returning from the military Gene took a job with a local plumber, moving on to becoming a business partner and soon after opening his own plumbing business, “Genes Plumbing” of Turlock, which he successfully operated until he retired at 65.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn Lancaster of Turlock; daughters Brenda (Frank) Silveira of Atwater and Priscilla Cardoza of Utah; siblings Lucille Kisling and James Lancaster; grandchildren Melissa Vierra, Megan Silveira, Ben Plaa and Ashlee Schmidt; and eight great grandchildren. Gene is preceded in death by his sister Louellen Wheeler.

A funeral service will be held at Allen Mortuary on Monday, January 21st at 1:00pm. The service will conclude with burial and Military Honors at Lakewood Memorial Park, on Santé Fe Ave in Hughson.
