James “Jim” Grisham

August 1935 – May 2013

James “Jim” Grisham, 77, of Atwater, passed away at Mercy Medical Center after a short illness. Jim was born in Bay, Ark. to Luther and Minnie Grisham. The family moved to Livermore, CA when Jim was 5 years old and he graduated from Livermore High School. Jim was an avid baseball player and coach. He moved to Gustine and worked in the food canning industry for 42 years, first for Carnation and later for Nestle Co. He was a hard-working man with a variety of interests and abilities. He had a TV antenna business, raised Arabian horses, was a member of the Moose Lodge, and did volunteer work distributing commodities.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, daughter Kimberly Grisham, and his wife Betty in 1987. He is survived by four children: Debbie Rodriguez of Newman, Randy Grisham of Gustine, Rick (Mika) Grisham of Hilmar, and Victoria (Ted) Davis of Newman; 18 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

A private Graveside Service will be held at Sunnyside Cemetery in Stevinson.
