On September 25, 2020, James “Uncle Jimmy” Zanos, the life of the party, left us. For a man with only 9 fingers, he lived the life of 10 men. He was somebody that could always be depended on to help you change your spark plugs, talk you through a difficult belt replacement, or get those pesky extra beers out of your fridge for you. Any day that he could spend with those that he cared about, preferably with NASCAR on TV or a car on a jack stand, that was a good day to Uncle Jimmy. He was a friend to many and family to the lucky few and he will be missed dearly.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents Don and Loretta Zanos. He is survived by his sister Cyndi (Chris) Tiernan of Turlock, nephews Kyle (Ashley) Tiernan of Turlock, and Austin (Katie) Tiernan, also of Turlock, and many aunts and uncles.

We ask that in lieu of crying for our dear friend, that you instead put on a marathon of The Three Stooges and do your best impressions. It’s what he would’ve wanted. Nyuk Nyuk Nyuk Uncle Jimmy, Nyuk Nyuk Nyuk.

Knowing James for the many years was a pleasure for my husband Ron and I. His mother Loretta was our classmate from THS while James was a graduate from Denair High School. Many good laughs from this young man.
Sorry for your loss Cindy. He may be gone from here, but will never be forgotten by those that knew him.
    Rest in peace James.

I don’t remember how we became friends but we became the best of friends. I haven’t seen you in so long and I’m so sorry for that. Thank you for all the fun we had. You showed me my need for speed by being with me when I drove like a crazy woman windows down at 95! You always made me laugh. The world lost a good person. So sorry for your loss Cindy. I know he wasn’t perfect but he tried hard. Love to the Zanos family.

I was James’s wife 92-96. He loved to have fun and spend time with his friends. When he got diabetes it tore him up for a while. Than he took it in stride like he did with everything.

Even thoo we where not together vary long we stayed so so in contact untill he lost his mom. He did however stay in contact with my father, john cox of delhi, ca. Off and on for years. He will be missed, but not forgotten.
