Karen Wagman Moody passed away on Thursday, January 29th, five years after being diagnosed with dementia.
Karen was born October 28th, 1949 in Philadelphia and spent the first twelve years of her life on the East Coast. Her family moved to San Francisco in 1961 and to Davis in 1965 where Karen graduated from Davis High School in 1967.
She did a great deal of traveling in her college years and studied in Mexico for a short time.
Karen, a Turlock resident for the past 24 years, was very involved in her community including 4-H, Toastmasters, and CSU Stanislaus activities. Karen took up her education again receiving a Master’s degree in English at CSU Stanislaus in 2001. After receiving her degree she taught for a period of time at CSU Stanislaus, Modesto Junior College and Chapman University. In her spare time Karen loved reading and spending time with her animals.
She is survived by her son Roy Moody, daughter-in-law Melissa and two grandchildren in Turlock, brother Bill in Davis and sister Ann in Irvine.
Services for Karen will be held on Friday, February 20th at 10am at Allen Mortuary, 247 N. Broadway in Turlock, CA.
