Leila Ida Glasow

Leila was born in Tacoma, WA to William and Anna Kurth and passed away in Merced at the age of 96. She was very active in her church, Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Livingston. Leila was a very creative person and enjoyed making decorative eggs, ceramics, sewing, cake decorating, and crocheting, to name a few. She enjoyed traveling with friends and family and making gifts with her creative skills for her grandchildren and kids at church. In more recent years she spent a lot of time completing jigsaw puzzles.

Leila is survived by her children Arleen Marques, Marion (Hershel) West and Judy (Rocke) Oates; six grandchildren Teri, Brenda, Kathy, John, Sonya and Jeff; fifteen great grandchildren and two (almost three) great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Melvin “Rusty” Glasow in 1996 and three brothers.

Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Livingston, St. Paul Church in Merced, or to the charity of the donor’s choosing.

Viewing will be held at Allen Mortuary on Friday, July 31, 2015 from 3:00-7:00p.m. Funeral will be held at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1505 E. Street Livingston, CA 95334 on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 10:30a.m. with burial to follow at Turlock Memorial Park.
