Dec. 1950 – Oct. 2014

On October 11, 2014 Leroy Joseph Garcia went home to be with the Lord. Leroy was 63 years young. Born in Turlock on Dec. 6, 1950, he spent most of his life in Livingston. He was an alumni of Livingston High School and Merced College.

Leroy worked a majority of his life as an outside sales representative in the automotive paint industry. He was well-respected in his field.

His interests included fishing, hunting, and camping. He was a huge Giants and 49ers fan, attending as many games as possible with his boys. He also loved racing and spent the past 8 years attending Utah’s Salt Flat Races; their group was known as “The Salt Flat Jack Rabbits”. But Leroy’s favorite past-time was spending time with his family, supporting each sporting event and preparing food for them to spend time together just talking about the day, and on occasion had to referee a family football game.

Leroy’s greatest gift was making people laugh and feel at home. Witty, smart, but tending and loving were his greatest assets and the legacy he leaves behind.

He was preceded in death by his parents Maximino and Rosie Garcia and brother Joseph Garcia. Leroy leaves behind his wife Tina; six children: Michelle, Michael, Anthony, Dylan, Morgan, and Dakota; two brothers Jim and Max Garcia, along with three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held on Mon., Oct. 27th at 10am at New Life Christian Center, with a reception to follow.

A Memorial Fund is set up with Bank of America, Atwater, CA (209-356-2580) under the name of Tina Garcia Memorial Fund, with the last 4 digits of the account #7183.
