Louie Anthony Ventura

“Louie” Ventura, age 89, passed away at Brandel Manor in Turlock. He was born in Gustine and raised in Modesto until he settled in Turlock in 1951. He served in the United States Army from 1943 – 1946 as 11th Airborne Division of the 188th Parachute Infantry Regiment. He married Hilda Oliveira in 1953, they just celebrated their 60th anniversary. He worked for the City of Modesto in the Streets and Parks Dept. from 1967 – 1986. He belonged to the Moose Lodge, American Legion, and the V.F.W all in Turlock. He loved camping and fishing.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Hilda Ventura, three daughters Linda (Dan) Parquette of Galt, CA, Debbie Hendrix of Turlock, and Toni (Paul) Montalvo of Turlock; two granddaughters Brianne Montalvo, and Courtney Hendrix; two step grandsons Robbie and D.J. Parquette, two step great granddaughters Christina and Kaydence Parquette; and sister Fran Billington of Modesto. He is preceded in death by two sisters Mabel Perry and Gerry Brewer; mother Lucy Costa, and father Antonio Ventura.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2013 from 4pm – 7pm at Allen Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 26, 2013 at 11am also at Allen Mortuary. A military committal service will be held on Friday, August 2nd at 10:30am at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella.
