Mary Anita Sarale

Mary Anita Sarale came to California from Oklahoma at a young age of 20, wanting to pursue acting in Hollywood, but instead she met the love of her life and married him. She was a wonderful homemaker, as she enjoyed cooking, canning, sewing, photography and oil painting. Mary then started working at a department store as a sales clerk and model. She, along with her husband, bought a candy store making homemade candies in San Francisco and South Lake Tahoe.

After retiring and the passing of her first husband, Mary married for a second time and lived a nice life in Stockton, Ca for 25 years until the passing of her second husband. Mary then moved to Turlock, Ca to be close to her family where she became a part of Northside Assembly of God.

Mary spent the last year and a half living at Sequoia Assisted Living at Covenant Village, where she made a nice bunch of new friends, until her passing.

Mary had a nickname, “Special”, which fit her and who she was all too well. Special truly is and will always be very much missed.

Mary is survived by son James Hess of Angels Camp, CA, daughter Candice Weaver of Turlock, sister Aileen Davis of Turlock, brother Glenn Hope of Oklahoma, four grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her first husband Lyle G. Hess in 1970, then her second husband John Sarale in 1998, and her granddaughter Shellie Weaver.

Memorial service will be on Friday, February 15, 2013 2:00 p.m. at Covenant Village Berg Hall.
