Mary Elizabeth Coolidge-Arbury

Mary was born in Springfield, Missouri to Frank and Virginia Winfield in 1920 and passed away at the age of 94 in Modesto. Mary was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church. She received her Bachelor degree in education and was a lifetime member of Delta Kappa Gamma at UOP. She became a special education teacher where she earned numerous recognitions including Woman of The Year in 1967, Teacher of The Year in 1972 and The School Bell Award in 1974. Mary was a lifetime member of the PTA and C.E.C.; enjoyed helping with the Special Olympics and was one of the founders of A.R.C. of Stanislaus County.

She is survived by her sons Ronald (Linda) Coolidge and David (Adrian) Coolidge; siblings Frank Winfield and Gene Winfield; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by first husband Clarence Coolidge and later by Ted Arbury; her parents and three siblings.

Memorial contributions can be made to A.R.C. of Stanislaus County at 1424 Stonum Rd. Modesto, CA 95351. Memorial service will be held on Tues., Oct. 28 at 10:30am at 1st United Methodist Church, Modesto.
