Mary Fiorini October 25, 1918 - February 7, 2021

October 25, 1918 – February 7, 2021

Mary peacefully passed away on Sunday February 7, 2021 after a short battle with COVID. She was 102 years young. She was born October 25, 1918 in San Francisco. At 10 months of age she moved with her parents and grandparents to a dairy farm in the Hilmar Colony where she was raised. In 1940, she graduated from San Jose State College with a teaching credential. Her first job was in Sunnyvale, California as an elementary school music teacher. Later she moved back to the Hilmar area to teach for 40 years in Delhi and Livingston. She met Forest Fiorini and they were married in 1948. They had two children. She is survived by her youngest sister, Belletta Swanson of Turlock, her son Randy Fiorini of Turlock, her daughter Debbie Wiebe of Martinez, 4 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

She loved to entertain. She was well known for her birthday gift of Angel Food Cake to many friends and family members. She enjoyed knitting afghans for family members, prayer shawls for  church friends and enjoyed needlepointing on motorhome trips across the country.

She belonged to the United Methodist Women Groups, PEO, Delhi-Ballico Women’s Reading Club and a long-time member of the international Flying Farmers in which she and Forest enjoyed meeting longtime friends and traveling to many different places of the country. She had great passion for music and had hoped to get at least one family member to learn to play the piano

I have known Mary for 50 years. We traveled together, enjoyed restaurants and meals at her home. Had angel food cake with coffee. Always stopped to visit on our way through from Palm Springs the past few years. Music was performed for Forests’ birthday party in the yard a few years ago and I played piano for the style show in Delhi several times. Will always remember Mary; she was a great Christian lady.

I have a few memories of Mary. First I want to say she was very kind and she entertained us a few times. Her biscuits and chicken gravy at her house. Then she had us for lunch at her assistant living. Then when my sister and I came to California to see my Mom she took us all out for lunch. What an Awesome Lady Mary was. I will always cherish these Memories of her. My Wonderful sister Pauline worked for Mary for 30 years. Rest in peace and you will be missed.
