Mary Frances Bailey

Mary Frances Bailey went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 1, 2015. She was a beautiful, loving wife, mother and grandmother; born to Harry and Grace Edmonston in Long Beach, CA in December of 1927. An only child, Mary grew up in Southern California and graduated from Huntington Park High School. She attended Redlands University and then came to Stanislaus County where she lived the rest of her life.

Family was extremely important to Mary and she treasured family gatherings. Mary was blessed to love and be loved by two wonderful husbands, Howard Rose (deceased) with whom she had two daughters, Dianne and Marlene, and her second husband, Billy Gene Bailey, a sweet and gentle man.

Mary loved to dance and she and Billy were members of the Carousel Dance Club. She was really into music and adored Big Band recordings. Golfing was a pastime of Mary’s and she was a member of Greenhorn Creek Golf and Country Club and a former member of Turlock Golf and Country Club. Her other favorite activities included cars, dining out and tennis.

Mary is survived by her husband Billy Bailey; daughters Dianne Dahlstrom and Marlene (Dave) Gonsalves; grandchildren Scot (Kendra) Dahlstrom, Mark (Cori) Dahlstrom, Eric (Becca) Gonsalves, Karin (Jason) Plett, Lindsay Gonsalves and nine great grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her first husband Howard L. Rose.

Viewing will be held at Allen Mortuary at 247 N Broadway in Turlock on Friday, August 7, 2015 from 3 pm to 6 p.m. Funeral Service will be Saturday, August 8th at 10:00 a.m. also at Allen Mortuary with a reception immediately following at Allen Event Center.
