Mary Rezendes Marconett

November 1917 – August 2011

Mary Marconett, 93, passed away at Emanuel Medical Center. She was born in Massachusetts to Antonio and Antonia Frias. The family moved to Turlock when Mary was 12 years old. She married Emanuel Phillips when she was 18 and they had two sons. In 1957 she married Ralph Marconett. They were married for 35 years before his death in 1995. Mary and Ralph were part of the Stepping Pards and loved square dancing. Mary was an outstanding seamstress. She made her own dresses for square dancing and many of his shirts. She knitted, crocheted, and even made lace table decorations. Family members have received countless homemade treasures from Mary through the years. She was also a devout Catholic and a member of the Portuguese Club of Turlock.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, and by her husband Ralph Marconett. She is survived by her two sons: Leonard (Katy) Phillips of Turlock and Richard Phillips of Turlock; four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and two great, great grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled for Allen Mortuary on Friday, September 2nd from 4 to 7 pm. A Graveside Service is set for the Mausoleum at Turlock Memorial Park on Saturday, September 3rd at 11:00am. Memorial Contributions are suggested for the Portuguese Club of Turlock, 127 West Main, Turlock, CA 95380.
