Michael McDonald

McDonald, Michael web picJune 1944 – Jan. 2015

Michael McDonald loved life…so much so, that when an eager opponent, “Cancer” challenged him in the ring he willingly accepted and fought to knock out the Big C! Iron Mike continued to fight until the end and left this world surrounded by his adoring fans…his wife, Diana McDonald, brother David McDonald, daughters Michele (Ray) VanNieuwenhuyzen, Melanie (Brian) Krigbaum and Manda (Paul) Hardy, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. His legacy will live on every time his fans eat a wonderful meal, take in a local sporting event, support the arts, gather together for a cup of coffee, have a good laugh, embellish a lengthy story, make time for their family, give a firm handshake or travel to a unique destination.

Come celebrate Mike’s many victories on Feb. 7th at 3:00 p.m. at the War Memorial in Turlock, CA.

In lieu of flowers…Get in the ring and make a difference. . .

Please send donations in Iron Mike’s name to the Turlock High School Relay for Life Team, make a donation to the American Cancer Society, join a Relay for Life team or be in the corner to help a fellow “fighter”!

Remembrances

  1. Good-bye, Mike. Just found out today that you are no longer with us. I’m glad I had the opportunity to reconnect with you and so many other classmates back in 2000 when you coordinated our 40th reunion. I remember your Mother with her bright red hair when I worked in the cafeteria at San Joaquin Elementary, she was in charge. You followed in her footsteps as you were a take charge kind of guy and so very popular with everyone. Sounds like you had a good life and I send my condolences to your Family, Mike. The big “C” took you too young. With all my love, Maria (Mary Leon) Rodriguez.
