Born in Oakland, California April 10, 1922, to Lester and Eleanor Lievre. She was an only child.
In her youth she was involved in ballet, art, and acting.
She married Wallace Hector Carroll on November 2, 1945 after Wallace returned from naval duty in the South Pacific as a chief petty officer.
They had two sons: Wallace, born in 1946, and James, born in 1951.
Over her lifetime Nellie moved from Oakland/San Leandro to Sacramento, then Walnut Creek, Sunnyvale, Cupertino, Scotts Valley, Auburn, Sun City Roseville, and finally, Turlock, California.
She was always a perfect housekeeper. She took wonderful care of her two sons and a nephew and nieces who lived with the family in the 1960’s.
Nellie can be described as gentle, loving, artistic and a lover of Jesus Christ. She dearly loved her husband of 70 years until his death in 2015.
She leaves two sons, two daughters in law, six grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
We will miss her beauty, poise, humor and grace in all our lives. We who remain praise God for Nellie’s beautiful touch in our lives.
