Otis was born in Cuba, Illinois to Raymond and Mary Landis on August 26, 1932 and passed away on January 13, 2021 at the age of 88.  He remained in Illinois until he joined the Navy in 1952 and finally settled in California after leaving the service in 1961.  He was a Veteran during the Korean Conflict era.

He was always involved at church and most recently attended New Life Christian Center in Turlock.   Although his greatest pride and joy was spending time with family, he also enjoyed watching sports and playing the saxophone.  He was past President of the Delhi-Ballico Lions Club.  After several different jobs throughout his lifetime, he finished up his career working for the Department of the Army as a Medical Equipment Specialist.

Otis is survived by his children Bill Landis of Turlock, California and Lisa Landis of Delhi, California; and one grandson William Landis.  He was preceded in death by his siblings, his parents, and his wife Donna Landis.

Private services will be held.

I deeply appreciate the genuine friendship and tender care you have always shown to your neighbors, (my in-laws) Bob and Norma Smallwood, and to Steve and I. All through the years when we would come to visit, there you were with your warm welcome and precious presence. We enjoyed those visits very much! I loved how you cared for each other’s dogs and did so much (you and Lisa) to help Mom and Dad, especially in the more recent years when Mom’s health was failing and Dad struggled so to care for her. It was such a comfort to know that you and Lisa were there, only a few steps away from each other’s door aiding and assisting and reporting concerns, taking them MANY times to medical and other critical appointments. I look forward with great anticipation to the day that we all meet again at the feet of Jesus where there will be no more tears, no more pain or suffering. Heaven seems closer today, as it always does when those we love have stepped over.
