Richard Alan Emig of Turlock, CA (a direct descendant of Emigsville, Pennsylvania), was born on July 6, 1944 and passed away peacefully on November 28, 2018 surrounded by his adoring children Melissa Heaslett, Matt Emig, and Ryan Emig. He is also survived by his grandchildren Taylor Heaslett and Connor Heaslett.
Richard was a retired cattle broker who loved gambling. His sense of humor helped comfort his family through the last difficult week when he suffered a rare stroke. This is where we’d like to encourage everyone to quit smoking!
He was recently reunited with most of his siblings just prior to his illness and treasured that!
Not only was he hilarious, overly generous, and kind — he had charisma! Voted “Biggest Flirt” Class of “˜62 Hughson High School, he was quite a charmer! His personality was contagious! He joked and smiled to the end. His memory will be treasured and live on in our hearts forever.
To honor his wishes, funeral services are private and by invitation only.
Although we only spent a short time at The Hospice House in Hughson, CA, we would like to thank them for the respect and dignity that he so deserved and would encourage any form of donations in his name to Hospice House of Hughson.

December 10, 2018 at 1:47 amMy dear friend Richard! You were one of a kind. You always made the Ward’s laugh. I remember many good times on trips to Idaho and Missouri for cattle buying. You lived life to the fullest and were a great friend to me. We could talk about anything and you always found the good in everything. I cherish all the times we had especially when you lived with my family for a time. We laughed and even cried a few times just enjoying life. Thanks for all the special memories, you will live on in who you were. You leave so many funny anecdotes that I will cherish. You always talked about the gatherings. Well your in the grand gathering now enjoying Heaven! Goodbye for now but I’ll see you when my day comes. My heart hurts but I know your have a great time now. Thank you for the wonderful memories. They called you The Hawk,DE,and Richard. I knew you as my friend 53 years. Thank you with love your friend Tarry.

You were all blessed to have such a loving father and I was blessed to have such a great brother.I will not forget our lunch in Sacramento and how we laughed over old times. I also will treasure the (Pot Roast ) dinner that Richard, Ryan and Matt fixed just recently. I thank you Melissa for that, I am thankful for having such a special brother, who was very kind and thoughtful through all the years. I am sorry that we did not spend more time together

You were like a father to me at a time I needed one most! I will never forget the times we had. Many first time experiences shadowing you as a teenager! Whether it was teaching me to deliver a breeched calf or you telling me to pass an unmarked police car (which happened to be the police chief for Winnemucca, NV) getting my first and only ticket for speeding and laughing about it all the way home! I remember experiencing first hand how you commanded everyone’s attention when walking in a building full of men without saying a word! You were (are) the most charismatic person I have ever met! You will live forever in my heart DE!
