Robert Hunt Sr., 78, of Ceres, passed away at Alexander Cohen Hospice House after a long illness. Bob was born in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Ulyss and Lena Hunt, one of four children. They moved to California and he attended Hughson High School. As a young man he married Loyazelle Mc Cloud and they had 3 children. Bob joined the Army where he served as a Military Police Officer. After leaving the service they lived in Carlsbad, NM before moving to Hughson and later Denair, CA while he worked at Tri-Valley Growers until he retired. In 1994 Bob’s wife Loyazelle passed away. In July of 2002 he married Sue McCormick, moved to Ceres and returned to work at Home Depot-Turlock where he loved meeting new people. Bob has been an active member of Trinity Full Gospel Tabernacle in Turlock where he played drums in the band.

Bob was handy with woodworking and generous to share his talent. He made toys, cradles, and furniture while Loyazelle painted the items and they often gave the handmade items away.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Loyazelle, and a brother Dick Hunt. He is survived by his wife Sue Hunt; 3 children: Cindy (Bryan) Blagg of Ceres, Sandra (Jim) Mitchell of Gainesville, Missouri, and Robert Jr. (Pamela) Hunt of Ceres, CA; 2 stepchildren: Donna Haney and Kim Jacobson; 2 siblings: Marcia Westfall of Carlsbad, NM, and Zana Hicks of Jamestown, CA; 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Bob was a happy man, loved by many. He will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be at Allen Mortuary on Tuesday, July 7th from 4 to 6 pm. Funeral Service with Military Honors will be held at Allen Mortuary on Wednesday, July 8th at Allen Mortuary. Burial will follow at Denair Cemetery.
