Roland Minot

January 1920 - March 2016

Roland  Bradstreet Minot, 96, from Turlock, was born in San Jose but soon moved to north Merced County, where he was raised.  He joined the Air Corps in 1940 and served for the duration of the war, becoming a glider pilot.  He married my mother while in the Army.  After the war, they moved to Los Angeles, where my father got a job with the City of Los Angeles as an engineer for 32 years. Roland loved his work.  He also remained in the Air Force in communications and retired from it.  After retiring, he moved back to the north Merced County area, selecting Turlock, where he was very happy.

He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Annie, three of his four boys, two granddaughters, and four great-grandchildren.
