Ronald W. Rea, born October 23, 1937, passed away November 18, 2015. Ron was born in Fresno California, and moved to Modesto at the age of 4. He attended Downey High School where he lettered in Football and baseball. He was drafted by the Chicago White Sox to play catcher after graduating he chose instead to join the Marines. After leaving the service he returned to Modesto and met through friends the love of his life Phyllis Muston. They were married in 1960 and had four children. He worked multiple jobs before settling in the Automobile industry as a Financial manager for both Mistlin Honda and Alfred Mathews. He loved to go to Pismo Beach with his wife and loved camping with his family. He also played Senior Softball for years and went to the World Series, and managed and played on a team that went to the Senior Olympics in Utah where he won a bronze medal.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Phyllis, and his children Ronnie (Kristie), Lori Martinez (Gary), Kim, Kelly (Nancy), 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his Parents Ben and Millie, and his sisters Wanda, Virginia, and Melba.

Family would like to thank the staff at Memorial Hospital in the ICU and AMCU for their compassionate care of Ron. We would also like to thank Community Hospice for providing us with the opportunity to bring Ron home.

Visitation will be at Allen Mortuary on Friday, Nov. 27th from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral will be on Saturday, Nov. 28th, 11 am, at Orangeburg Avenue Baptist Church, 313 East Orangeburg, Modesto. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park. Please leave memories and condolences at
