Rosie McCullum, 84 years of age, passed away on September 11, 2020 at Highlands Home in Modesto, California.

Her journey began on October 19, 1935 in Modesto, California to the late Tony F. Martin and Maria F. Dos Santos. Rosie has an older sister Mary Sousa.

Rosie later moved to Atwater, CA where she worked at a local cannery and then moved on to becoming a teacher’s aide at Mitchell Elementary School. On May 1, 1970, Rosie began her career at Bank of America where she worked for 28 years. Rosie worked hard and raised three children: Alvin, Paul and Sandra. On May 24, 1981, Rosie married her love Ted McCullum.

Rosie was able to retire in 1998 and at that point was able to do the things she loved, like volunteering at the voting polls and becoming active within the senior citizen center. Rosie loved to exercise, visit with friends and family, and most of all she loved to travel. She was able to take a memorable trip with her beloved sister, Mary, to Maryland to visit and reconnect with family. It was a trip that she always reflected on and meant a lot to her. She also loved to travel in their trailer to Pismo with family.

Rosie will be remembered for her kind heart, willingness to help anyone, and her smile. She cherished her family and would always cut out and save every newspaper clipping for each of her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s birth announcements. She was a very proud grandma.

Rosie leaves to cherish her loving memory to her three children, Alvin Espinola (and spouse Sammi Espinola), Paul Espinola (and spouse Lisa Espinola), and Sandra Garcia; two step kids, Mike Jackson (and spouse Rhonda) and Terri Burt (and spouse Scott); her six grandchildren, Tamara Ferrario (and spouse Tony), Dre King, Brittany Silva (and spouse Brandon), Devin Espinola, and Madison Espinola; two step grandchildrenn Mike Jackson, Jr. and Amy Burt; and eight great grandchildren, Carmine, Isabelle, Eden, Rocco, Lorenzo, Abby, Kameron and Leo. Rosie’s older sister, Mary Souza and her family, will continue to cherish her as well. Rosie is celebrating in heaven with her beloved husband Ted McCullum, her mother and father, and the friends and family she lost throughout her life.

Viewing will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2020, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Allen Mortuary in Turlock, California. Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 18, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Allen Mortuary with burial to follow at Turlock Memorial Park.
