Roy “Dale” Owens, 71, passed away on Father’s Day after a very long illness.  He is now in the arms his Heavenly Father, the Lord above.   Dale was born in Arkansas in May of 1947. His family moved to Hughson, CA when he was 8 months old.

Dale graduated from Hughson High School in 1965 and then enlisted in the Navy shortly after. He spent the next four years in Vietnam.  In that time he married Carol Yettman in 1967, who he knew from high school.  They were blessed with two sons, Brian and Jeff.  Dale and Carol would have been married 51 years next month.  Brian had been helping take care of Dale for a long time and Jeff has had his own business.

Dale graduated from Modesto Jr. College and was a Sheriff’s Deputy.  After leaving the Stanislaus Sheriff’s Department, he became a salesman at Modesto Welding Supply, which he loved.  Later he moved on to other companies.

Dale is survived by his wife Carol and his sons Brian and Jeff Owens. Dale was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Mertle; brothers, Jack and Tim, and two sisters, Evelyn and Evah Mae.  He has many loving nieces and nephews.  May God bless Dale; he was so loved and will be missed very much!

A Public Viewing will be held from 5-7 p.m. this Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Allen Mortuary.  A Graveside Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 22, 2018 at Ceres Memorial Park, Ceres, CA.  Please share your memories at www.AllenMortuary.com.

I worked for many years with Dale and always regarded him as a great person to work with. Also shared many good times with Dale and Carol away from work. He was a wonderful and caring family man. So sad his family is now without him. Bless Carol and his sons…my thought are with them .

    Carol & Family,

We met years ago at Joe & Mary Ann’s. We laughed, played cards and had a great time. Dale will be remembered for that and for always being kind to his classmates in Hughson. He enjoyed a life well-lived.

    Thoughts & Prayers,

    Classmates Ken & Janice Rocha
