Ruben Henry Genn
Ruben Henry Genn
Ruben was born in 1983 in Turlock, CA. Other than the time he spent in the Army, he lived in Hilmar all of his life. He was a good man, always helpful, respectful, and caring of his family and friends.
Ruben enjoyed both playing and listening to music. He was an avid internet gamer, and loved all aspects of computers and digital technology.
Ruben also enjoyed the great outdoors, and traveled as much as he could. He enjoyed the ocean, fishing, bicycle riding, and shooting his compound bow. He recently took up amateur astronomy and spent hours viewing the night sky through his telescope.
As a young boy, he participated in sports, both baseball and football. He attended grammar school, middle school, and high school in Hilmar. After graduation Ruben joined the Army.
He was an Army Engineer stationed in both Missouri and Texas. Upon returning home, he worked for several manufacturing companies where he learned to operate a forklift while working in a warehouse. He became a utility worker at a local almond hulling company where he was able to utilize his forklift skills.
A few years back, during the off season, Ruben was able to achieve his lifelong dream when he put himself through truck driving school and became a commercial Class-A truck driver. In the short time that Ruben drove a truck, he was able to become a successful driver and a valuable asset to the trucking firm he worked for.
Ruben is survived by his parents, Jerry and Frances Genn, and will be greatly missed by anyone who had the good fortune to have known him.
Memorial service will be on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 2:00pm at Allen Mortuary.
