September 1931 ~ January 2015
Sol Mark of Delhi passed away on January 22, 2015 at the age of 83 in Turlock, CA. He is survived by his loving wife Lema; his four children: Sherry, Karen, David and Steven; and his three grandchildren: Marissa, Megan and Mason. He was loved by many and had many friends. He will be forever in our memories as life will not be the same without him. He was our steadfast rock. We loved him and honor him.
Before Sol settled as a peach, walnut, and almond farmer of the Central Valley, he served his country in the Korean War. He went back to his home of Delhi. And he married and had a family. While working, he supported his small town roots by joining the Delhi-Ballico Lions Club, and volunteering as a firefighter for his community.
He went to Livingston High School, the class of “49”. There are many wonderful memories with his classmates from all the reunions that we attended. His wife, his children, his nephews and nieces and grandchildren and friends will have many memories of his uncanny ability to tell a story in his special way that was remarkably ‘charming’ and left no one without laughter and love in their hearts. We hope this tradition continues. Sol had this amazing ability to connect with people and we are so grateful that he was with us for the time we had.
Celebration of Life to be held at Allen Mortuary on Sunday, February 1, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, Sol would love it if you were to donate to your favorite charity.
