Sonya Gail Jarman

Sonya Gail Jarman was born in Hollywood, CA to Lanny and Audrey Johnson in December of 1966. Sonya grew up with her five siblings in Santa Maria. When Sonya reached adulthood, she moved to the Central Valley living in Merced, Riverbank and most recently for the past seven years in Turlock.

Sonya was a single mother of three and worked full time while she put herself through college. She graduated from Chapman University with a Master’s Degree in Special Education. “Creativity” was Sonya’s middle name as she excelled at crafting, jewelry making, scrap booking, latch hooking and music. She also enjoyed camping, roller skating and was an accomplished cook and baker. Sonya loved celebrating and could create a party for a full house in a moment’s notice.

Sonya is survived by her husband Dak Champeaux, mother Audrey Aufforth; children Devin and Galvin Jarman, Josie Clausing and Sophie Champeaux; grandchild Hailey Clausing; siblings Gabriel, Kenneth and Clarissa Johnson, Catherine Miller and Maurice Aufforth. Sonya is preceded in death by her father Lanny Johnson.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3 pm Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Allen Mortuary.
