Wallace Carroll, 93, of Turlock, passed away at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock. Wally was born in San Jose, CA to Thomas and Marion Carroll, one of 4 children. He grew up in San Jose and graduated from Santa Clara High School. He began a 40 year career in the telecommunications industry with Pacific Telephone. His career was interrupted by three years of service in the US Navy. In the Navy he became a Chief Petty Officer at age 21. He served in the South Pacific during World War II. After the war Wally returned to work at Pacific Telephone and Telegraph where he rose to the position of Chief Engineer.

Wally married the love of his life, Nellie Lievre, in 1945. The Carrolls were one of the founding families of Hillview Bible Chapel in Cupertino, California and later Wally and Nellie were instrumental in the founding of the Pleasant Grove Community Church in Roseville, where they lived for many years. He was a man of faith and a family man. In his spare time he enjoyed golf and billiards. He was greatly loved and will be fondly remembered.

Mr. Carroll was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Donald Carroll and Thomas Carroll. He is survived by his wife of nearly 70 years, Nellie Carroll of Turlock, two sons Dr. Wallace B. (Lydia) Carroll of Oakdale CA and James (Wendy) Carroll of Medford OR, a sister Nan McKay of La Jolla CA, 6 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held at Covenant Village Berg Hall on Friday, June 26th at 1 pm. Private burial will be held at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon.
