Wallace Riches, 85, of Modesto, passed away at English Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Modesto. Wally was born in Hillsboro, Oregon to Wallace and Margaret Riches. He did his undergraduate work at both University of Oregon and Oregon State. He completed his education with a Master of Divinity from the Pacific School of Religion, Berkeley, CA and was ordained in 1966. He pastored churches throughout the Bay Area and Central California.
First married to Barbara Black, yielding two daughters, Lynn Frapwell, Tammy Enos (Randy) and then in 1972 married for life to Dallas Cooper, who brought 4 children with her, Brenda Cooper (Mark), John Cooper (Paul-Louis), Jill Cooper (Barry), Jeff Cooper (LeeAnne). Wally will be missed greatly, by his love Dallas Riches, his remaining brother and sister, 6 children, 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and very large circle of extended family, spouses and friends.
He was also a member of Rotary East Modesto, serving as President twice. We all give thanks for the loving care given by the Doctors, CNA’s and Nurses, and maintenance personnel at English Oaks.
