Wilma Bartlett, 67, of Denair, passed away unexpectedly at home. Wilma was born at home (Denair) to Roy and Edith Thompson and grew up attending Hickman Grammar School and Hughson High School. She graduated in 1965 and later went on to further schooling to become a full charge bookkeeper. Wilma married and began her family after high school. She loved children and was a great mother and grandmother. She was a hardworking, frugal, and creative Mom and homemaker. Her home was always a welcoming place for others, too. She worked for 20 years as a bookkeeper and manager for Diamond Walnuts and/or H & R Block.

She met and married her soulmate, Robert Bartlett, in 1982. Together they loved sightseeing and travel, especially to see the kids. Their most recent adventure was an RV trip to Alaska, where they had the opportunity to catch and can their own salmon. They have maintained a loving, welcoming, Christian home and family.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Wilburn Thompson, daughter Stephanie Nilsson, and great-granddaughter Gabriella Garabay. She is survived by her husband Bob Bartlett; children: Sherry (Mark) Tanis, Diane (Michael) Elledge, Robert Jr. (Laurie) Bartlett, and Debra Torres; sisters: Zella Coleman, Maxine Moore, Elsa Riddle, and Florine Sterling; 16 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. Wilma was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

A Memorial Service will be held at Crossroads Church on Thursday, June 25th at 11 am. Memorial gifts are encouraged for Crossroads Church, 1360 N. Johnson in Turlock or the American Cancer Society, 1101 Sylvan Ave, C105, Modesto CA 95351.
