It is time to rest. Allan Bashor fought the fight while still enjoying life all the way. He never complained, always smiled and never gave up. Allan passed June 23, 2026 at the age of 85 in Turlock, CA.

Allan was born in Modesto, raised on a ranch in Waterford and attended Waterford Elementary School. He and his classmates were still meeting once a month for lunch. Allan graduated from Oakdale High School, where he was active in football, FFA and was Student Body President. After high school he attended LaVern College studying Sociology, before embarking on a life experience of working with refugees in Laos and teaching English as a foreign language in Cambodia for 6 years. Upon returning to the United States, he obtained his degree at Iowa State and then went on to teach at the University of Kentucky.

Always learning he became a certified antique appraiser and had two stores in Arizona. When the time came to get closer to his roots, he worked with the handicapped, teaching social skills in Fresno and Modesto.

After marrying Linda in 1990, they managed a mini-storage in Fresno and Merced for 18 years before making Turlock their home. Allan was a member of the Waterford Lions Club. He and Linda were active square dancers, belonging to several clubs. Allan and Linda loved to travel in their 5th wheel, mainly to the coast.

Allan is survived by his best friend and loving wife Linda of 36 years. Linda’s sons, Kevin (Sabrina) Fritz of Washington and Jason (Nicole) Fritz of Waterford, 11 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and his brother Donald Bishop of Vallejo. Allan was preceded in death by his biological mother, Ruby Bishop, and Myrna and Issac Bashor, who adopted him at birth; his siblings, Jack Greenwood, Hazel Bishop, Charles Bishop and Verna Snell.

There will be a Celebration of Life open house on July 12th from 11-1 at the clubhouse located at 2755 N. Walnut Rd. in Turlock.
