It is with profound sadness and immeasurable love, we announce the passing of Alice Guinn Garcia of Turlock, California at the age of 88. She was born in Becker, Minnesota to Bill and Agnes Guinn and was an enrolled member of the White Earth Reservation. She married Ernest Garcia and together they raised their 4 children.

She was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother and proud Chippewa woman. She left this world surrounded by the love she spent a lifetime giving so freely to others.

To know her was to know unconditional love. Her family was the center of her universe, and there was nothing she wouldn’t do for her children and grandchildren. She welcomed most everyone with warmth, generosity, and a smile that made you feel at home. Her greatest joy was seeing those she loved happy, and she spent her life making sure they knew they were loved beyond measure. She found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. Whether she was laughing with family at a bingo hall, trying her luck at the slot machines, or being a vendor at the Pow-wows that kept her connected to her Chippewa heritage, she embraced every opportunity to celebrate life, tradition and togetherness. She never turned down a bag of crunchy Cheetos or Reese’s peanut butter cups, delighted in blueberries and there was almost always a cup of black coffee or an ice cold Pepsi in her hand. She carried herself with a quiet strength, a deadly look that kept everyone in their place, a deep compassion, and a spirit that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ernest Garcia, and her cherished son, Ernest Garcia Jr. While their loss weighed heavily on her heart, she continued to live with courage, grace, and unwavering love for those who remained by her side.

She is lovingly survived by her sons Darryl Garcia and Bradley Garcia; her daughter, Jolenta (Jody) Garcia; her grandchildren Monica, Joseph, Alice, Patricia, Angel, Dominique, Jeanette and Jennifer Garcia, and many more great-grandchildren, extended family and countless friends whose lives were forever enriched by her love and kindness.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that love does not end with death. Her laughter will echo in family gatherings, her strength will live on in her children and grandchildren, and her love will continue through every generation that follows. The lessons she taught, the memories she created, and the compassion she shared will remain a guiding light for all that knew her.

As we say “See you” , we do not simply mourn the woman we lost – we celebrate the extraordinary life she lived. Her journey on Earth has ended, but her spirit lives on in every story told, every embrace shared, every pow-wow remembered, and every family tradition carried forward.

May she walk in peace with her ancestors, reunited with those who have gone before her, until we meet again. Warm up the van dad, moms coming home.

A Visitation will be held at Allen Mortuary on Thursday July 30th 2026 from 5-7 p.m.

A Graveside will be held at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery on Friday July 31 2026 beginning 11a.m.
