With profound sadness and broken hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of Anthony De Jesus Ortiz, 39, who went to be with Jesus on September 25, 2026.

Anthony was born in Lindsay, California, on September 12, 1987, to Jose Ortiz Morfin and Carmen Maria Sanchez Ortiz. Anthony was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He grew up in Visalia, California, where he spent his childhood with his four brothers. He attended college at Fresno State, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration. During his freshman year of college, he met the love of his life, Stefani Ann (Jericoff) Ortiz. They were married on June 5, 2010, and shortly after, moved to Hilmar, California, where they started building their life together. Anthony’s greatest blessings were his children, Jacob, Justin, Sarah, and Levi.

Anthony worked as a Walgreens Store Manager for over 18 years, serving the community of Hilmar for over seven years.  As a devout Catholic, he found great joy in teaching and sharing his faith. He taught 2nd and 8th grade catechism classes for 14 years at Holy Rosary. He also served on the Parish Finance Council. When he wasn’t serving his community, you could often find Anthony supporting his children at multiple sports and school activities. He also enjoyed “Fun Fridays,” watching movies, and eating ice cream with his family. He was an avid Fresno State football fan and enjoyed traveling with his family. His life was a testament to his faith; he taught not only through words but through the example he set each day.

Though we struggle to understand why God called him home so young, we take comfort in knowing that Anthony’s life was a gift from God, and he touched the lives of so many.

Anthony will be remembered for his faith and love of God and his family, and for the special light he brought into the lives of family, friends, and all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife, Stefani; his children, Jacob, Justin, Sarah, and Levi; his mother, Carmen, along with his brothers, Joseph, Salvador, Alfredo (Alejandra), and Danny. He is preceded in death by his father, Jose Ortiz Morfin.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 4, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Allen Mortuary, 247 North Broadway, Turlock, CA.

A Rosary and Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 5, 2026, at 10:00am at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 20263 American Ave., Hilmar, CA.
