Erik Jan Charles Bakker went home to be with the Lord on June 12^th at 12:30pm at Doctor’s Medical Center in Modesto, CA.  He was born on November 30, 1945 in Amsterdam, Netherlands.  He was the son of Jan Bakker and Johanna Maria Elisabeth Bakker-Van Wel and brother to Olaf & Fritz Bakker.  He met his future wife Peggy Price while hitchhiking in Europe and the two were married on May 20^th, 1968 in Amsterdam shortly after their meeting.  After the two were married, Erik and Peggy moved to the United States to be closer to Peggy’s family. He then worked for his father-in-law as Director of Sales for Price Enterprises in San Carlos.  In 1962 he started ABC Distributing in Turlock, CA and later on he started Floral and Craft in Modesto, CA.  He was also involved in the fireworks industry in California and in Oklahoma. In the last chapter of his career Erik practiced real estate in the Bay Area and in his final years in the central valley for PMZ Real Estate.

Erik is survived by his wife Peggy, two children Derik Bakker and Mika Harmon, their spouses Leslie Bakker and Paul Harmon, and his five grandchildren Sara Bakker, Emile Bakker, Lily Harmon, Harrison Harmon, and Hudson Harmon.

His Celebration of Life will be held at Big Valley Grace Community Church at 4040 Tully Road, Modesto, CA on Monday, June 18^th at 10:30am.  Reception to immediately follow.
